Most People don’t realize how much tension they are carrying …
until it slows them down

My name is Brenden Pettingill, manual therapist, athlete, meditator, and poet.

With over 10 years of experience in various forms of yoga, meditation, and manual therapies, I rely on my own personal experience and successes to guide the techniques I use to help my patients’. Using visual and active assessments, I am able to quickly and precisely determine how the body is compensating as a whole, rather than chase symptoms and subjective experience. I want to be the manual therapist that I would recommend to myself, someone who isn’t looking or implementing quick fixes and a life time of dependence but someone that empowers people to be self dependent when finding and realizing long-term relief.

What brought me to massage and bodywork?

When I was 17, after months of intensifying symptoms and no answers from the best doctors around, I was finally diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, an autoimmune disease affecting and causing chronic inflammation of the colon. At the time I found certain things that could provide temporary relief, but nothing that lasted. They told me, with certainty that I would likely be forced to take dozens of pills daily for the rest of my life. In that moment with my Mother beside me, without words we shared a look of agreement that this would not be the case for me.

I was going to find a way to heal myself.

Since then I’ve spent years learning and discovering the roots of disease in the body, as well as, the causes for vital health. It’s taken me 15 years, discovering, practicing, reading and learning to get this point: including over ten thousand hours of experience meditating in a retreat setting, and thousands of hours studying yoga and bodywork around the world. Lucky for you, it doesn’t have to take a yoga teacher certification, 800 hour massage licensure, or lymphatic drainage specialty to benefit. I am currently in a four year program for Osteopathy and my studies inspire the work I practice today. I look forward to working with you!
